Moeller Marine

Fueling the Fun

Value From The Inside Out

Because one size does not fit all in the boatbuilding industry, nearly all Moeller OEM work is custom. Moeller engineers regularly push the envelope to satisfy customer design and cost requirements. What differentiates Moeller from any competitor is our commitment to value: from that first technical conversation through custom skidding and post-delivery service.

Cheap Price ≠ Best Value

As industry competition intensifies, the pressure to cut costs increases. One simplistic way to improve margins is by installing cheap components. Saving money is important, but it’s even more important to understand what those savings end up costing. Moeller Marine has spent decades developing OEM fuel tanks for the fuel systems of the largest boat manufacturers in the country. We understand the hidden costs in fuel system integration and know how to minimize them, through on-time delivery, regulatory compliance, analysis and test data, in-house tip studies, and product support.

Our mission is to make our customers look good to their customers, and we have the resources and experience to do it. Our technical staff includes design, quality, product development, and manufacturing engineers, including five full-time Solid Works designers. Eleven skilled mold-makers work two shifts to build and maintain tooling, and our knowledgeable US-based customer service and inside sales staff is complemented by a corps of Regional Sales Managers plus a global network of independent representatives.

Our 300,000 sq. ft. facility comprises an equipment lineup which includes eight rotational ovens and a rock & roll machine, as well as a 5-axis router, blow-molding equipment, and aluminum tank fabrication machinery (CNC press brake and plasma cutter). Moeller is an ISO 9001:2008-certified facility with an emphasis on in-line quality, 5S methodology, PPAP, and lean manufacturing techniques.

Grass-Roots Values

What we do outside of Moeller is a natural extension of how we operate on the inside. At Moeller, we are proud of our people, proud to serve our customer base, and proud to be part of our community. Maybe that’s why close to one-third of our employees have worked at Moeller for ten years or more. Not only is Moeller the premier fluid containment manufacturer in the recreational marine industry, we have built a culture of caring. Over the past year, we have donated hundreds of water tanks and jerry cans to disaster victims, both locally and nationally. Our employees lend a hand to local charities, and we financially support organizations throughout the TN Upper Cumberland Region.

Moeller OEM Products

So many companies today talk about innovation that the concept has become meaningless. At Moeller, we point to specific achievements. Beginning with the introduction of barrier tank technology in 2011, Moeller has launched a new product line or design innovation each year: 2012, Redi-Tanks; 2013, internal venting; 2014, aluminum tanks; 2015, Moeller diurnal components.

We are the premier rotational molder in the marine industry and the fourteenth across all industries nationwide. Moeller’s continued success is a function of design sophistication, customer commitment, and a culture which fosters a dedicated and smart workforce.

Regulations Overview

Many builders and boaters are surprised to learn that—unlike environmental laws—relatively few federal regulations relate to boating safety. To ensure that boating remains safe and enjoyable, and to make new regulations unnecessary, U.S. boat builders have come up with an effective way to police themselves to the highest standard.
